We will be seeing a play by Ms. Cooper’s class on Greek Mythology - Here is a summary of the play written by a student:
Our play “The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza,” gives you famous Greek gods and Greek myths. These Greek gods include Cronos, Zeus, Menelaus, Hades, and Apollo. You may have never heard about these gods, but they were used by the Greeks to explain how the word was created. Cronos was afraid to be overthrwon so he started to eat his children. Then, his wife was afraid, so she took him to therapy. Zeus came along and overthrew Cronos, and created mankind. Zeus created a man who had a wife named Pandora. The man had a box, but Pandora fought over it and opened it up. Then, a guy named Jason wanted to become king of a kingdom so he went and traveled with his friends, the Argonauts. He then married a girl named Medea, who killed herself after she killed her children. Eurydice fell in love with this boy named Orpheus, who happened to be one of the Argonauts (are you confused yet?). Near the end, there is a beauty contest between the goddesses Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena, and a boy named Paris, who had to choose who was the prettiest. Paris chose Aphrodite until he meets a girl named Helen who is actually already married to a king named Menelaus. Paris and Menelaus start the Trojan War, but in the end, Paris dies and Helen goes back with her husband, Menelaus…and THAT is Greek mythology!
